General Traffic Management
Our General TTM services support a wide range of works, including Civil Construction, Sealing, Tree Felling, Earthworks, Power Upgrades, and Drilling. No job is too big or too complex—we’re here to make it work.

Traffic Management Plan Design
NZ Traffic provides the preparation and design of fully compliant Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) in accordance with NZGTTM and CoPTTM requirements. Our plans are developed with a detailed, site‑specific approach, addressing all aspects of traffic and pedestrian management, including berm and footpath controls, temporary traffic layouts, multi‑lane shifts, shoulder closures, and full or partial road closures where required.
Upon receipt of the relevant project information, our qualified TTM Designers will prepare the TMP and submit it to the appropriate Road Controlling Authority (RCA) for review and approval. We manage the approval process on your behalf, ensuring all documentation meets current standards and local authority requirements.
Once approval is granted, NZ Traffic is able to implement the approved TMP and support the project through to completion, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient traffic management throughout the duration of the works.
TMP Design is very complex, our designer must consider many things such as:
- How traffic & other road users are affected by TTM.
- The duration & delays caused by the TTM.
- Hazards on site, how to eliminate or minimise these.
- How to manage traffic & provide solutions no matter how complex. Short term and long term.
- What controls need to be put in place for our footpath users – barriers, fencing, ramps, signage etc.
- Designing a high standard closure that doesn’t compromise safety.
Event Traffic Management
All sized Festivals, Parades, x Auckland V8 Supercars, Surfing and other sporting events.
Event Traffic Management follows the same robust principles as our standard TTM, with an added focus on flexibility, coordination, and public experience. While you concentrate on planning and delivering a successful event, NZ Traffic takes care of all traffic and pedestrian management requirements.
No event is too large or too small. At NZ Traffic, we specialise in removing the stress from event delivery. With all staff trained to the highest standard of Temporary Traffic Management, we ensure safe, compliant, and well‑managed events—making even the most complex operations run smoothly.
Variable Message System Hire
A trailer mounted Variable Message System (VMS) allows for easy to read, visible & convenient ways to direct and alert road users of upcoming events, hazards, road works, or other notifications. VMS are easily transported & installed, with remote message updating – we can change any notification to meet your needs!
These are compliant to NZTA standards, and solar powered – no need for a generator!!
